AI & DATA Engineer/Databricks

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-temperature ceramic components used in a variety of industrial applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Take charge of devising and executing cloud-native data pipelines for large-scale analytics and AI applications utilizing Databricks
Create and uphold high-caliber backend APIs and AI Agents that support internal tools and customer-facing products
Oversee data migration projects, prioritizing performance, reliability, and maintainability
Utilize Databricks environments directly or through CLI for tasks such as development, orchestration, testing, and deployment of jobs and pipelines
Advocate for and put into practice CI/CD best practices, Git workflows, and engineering standards within the data team
Work closely with AI engineers, consultants, and external stakeholders to transform requirements into scalable solutions

JOB REQUIREMENT

At least four years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, MLOps, or Data Science, including practical knowledge of cloud architecture, data pipelines, observability, and system integration testing
Solid practical experience in scalable data processing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and development of production-grade systems
Preferred experience with LLM applications and AI Agent development
Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and Cursor
Hands-on experience with Git workflows and management of CI/CD pipelines in team development environments
Business-level communication skills in either English or Japanese
Experience with Apache Spark and Databricks projects
Willingness to obtain Databricks certifications (training support provided after joining)
Strong ownership mindset with the ambition to grow into an AI & Data Lead role and take on technical leadership and delivery responsibility
