JOB DESCRIPTION

Create, construct, and manage dependable backend services for payment products utilizing Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
Develop and sustain APIs, services, and integrations with third-party systems.
Execute payment processes across various currencies, countries, and payment methods.
Manage refunds, retries, idempotency, webhooks, asynchronous processing, and partial failures.
Produce clean, sustainable, and testable code; engage in code reviews and restructuring.
Enhance system performance, reliability, observability, and security.
Address production issues, contribute to identifying root causes, and prevent future issues.
Work closely with product, QA, and other engineers; communicate potential risks at an early stage.

JOB REQUIREMENT

We are looking for a backend engineer with at least 3 years of professional experience for a mid-level position and at least 5 years for a senior-level position. The candidate should have hands-on experience in developing applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Additionally, proficiency in English communication.
The ideal candidate should have experience in designing, building, and operating production APIs and backend services, as well as troubleshooting production issues using various tools. Knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL or MySQL, is preferred, along with experience in working with background jobs and asynchronous workflows.
Nice to have qualifications include experience in payment or fintech, familiarity with Redis, Sidekiq, Kafka, AI-assisted coding/debugging tools, cloud infrastructure, and containers. Additionally, PCI-aware development practices would be a bonus.
