JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage the development and operation of biology data analysis pipelines for next-generation sequencing, focusing on large datasets and implementing new methods for exploring DNA-related clinical samples, including FFPE, fresh tissues, and cell-free DNA from plasma
Optimize and maintain analysis pipelines for large-scale samples
Oversee database systems, contributing to the development and improvement of methods for identifying and interpreting biomarkers for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes in cancer and inherited diseases
Troubleshoot and support other teams in resolving problems and ensuring data quality control
Summarize analysis results in suitable formats for colleagues and collaborators
Contribute to team discussions, support broader research goals, and potentially aid in the creation of publications
Provide weekly reports to the line manager

JOB REQUIREMENT

Proven experience in working with short read sequencing from NGS platform
Deep knowledge in domains such as cancer biology, human genetics, and molecular biology
Solid experience in analyzing DNA-seq, RNA-seq, or Methyl-seq
Familiarity with bioinformatics pipeline on high-performance computing environments
Strong attention to detail and adept at organizing multiple priorities efficiently
Ability to collaborate with partners and develop effective communication strategies
Proficient in writing project reports, research protocols, and manuscripts
Capable of independently resolving conflicts
Experience in handling challenging clinical specimens, such as FFPE tumor samples and cell-free DNA from plasma
Familiarity with Nextflow or Snakemake
Proficiency in developing containerized pipelines and environment using Docker, Singularity
Advanced skills in R or Python workflows for analysis and visualization
Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn machine learning and/or deep learning
Familiarity with database and/or MLOps
PhD or Master's degree in Biological Sciences (e.g., molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, health science) or
At least 5 years of work experience in an equivalent field
