JOB DESCRIPTION

Work closely with Industrial Design (ID) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) teams to translate desired product experiences into specific specifications and dimensional requirements.
Offer expertise on dimensioning schemes, datum selections, measurements, and GD&T application according to ASME standards and the needs of downstream assembly and systems.
Take the lead on TA/VSA and collaborate with partner teams to address identified risks and challenges effectively.
Coordinate planning for Development Validations & Verifications (DEV V&Vs) and ensure supplier partners are prepared for measurement system support. This may involve guiding fixture design, documenting measurement operations, addressing metrology issues, and qualifying measurement systems.
Oversee the creation of DEV health dashboard and work with internal and external partners to resolve issues and meet product ramp-up targets.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering teams or vendors to balance functionality and manufacturability during the development of dimensional controls.
Provide guidance to other ME or ODM partners in the DEV team regarding dimensional analysis requirements and processes, and participate in concurrent design development activities to maintain Dimensional Management objectives during collaborative design reviews.

JOB REQUIREMENT

We are seeking a highly skilled and competent Dimensional Management Engineer who demonstrates integrity and accountability and can work effectively in a team setting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. The ideal candidate should also possess excellent interpersonal skills and be adaptable to evolving timelines and deliverables.
A solid understanding of part manufacturing and assembly processes, as well as the ability to use this knowledge to influence informed decision-making within the product team is essential.
Experience in high-volume consumer electronics is desirable.
Minimum five years of related experience in Dimensional Management, or eight years in multi-component assembly design and/or manufacture with at least two years of Dimensional Management experience.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, with preference for Mechanical Engineering.
Demonstrable knowledge of High Volume Manufacturing and expertise in CNC Machining, Plastic Molding, Stamping, Assembly, or related processes.
Proficiency in Precision Metrology, Statistical Process Control, Quality Tools, and Data Analysis.
Strong program management skills to independently lead projects, along with familiarity with GD&T.
Practical experience in measurement system development and operations.
Advanced knowledge of statistical techniques, including measurement system analysis, process capabilities study/analysis, and tolerance analysis.
Leadership in quality inspection techniques, manufacturing fabrication, process, and capabilities for product development.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Self-directed with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of CAD systems such as Creo or equivalent.
