JOB DESCRIPTION

Managing team development efforts towards successful iterative project delivery
Ensuring appropriate procedures and processes are followed for on-time project delivery
Monitoring and evaluating projects and tasks for delivery commitments and maintaining transparent communication on impediments or risks
Refining requirements and translating them into functional specs
Collaborating with stakeholders to collect and document project requirements, development of user stories, estimates, and delivery schedules
Defining and enforcing well-defined processes and standards to ensure quality in all tasks and documentation
Leading and managing multiple engineering teams and departments, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination
Setting clear goals and objectives for the teams and providing guidance and support to achieve them
Fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization
Recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent to build high-performing teams
Coaching team members to help them grow and advance in their careers
Delivering training programs and initiatives to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the engineering team
Establishing a vision and a career roadmap for technical engineering aligned with business needs
Aligning engineering initiatives with the overall strategic goals
Developing and executing engineering strategies to drive product innovation and ensure the successful delivery of projects
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth execution of engineering projects
Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as product managers and business leaders, to understand their requirements
Communicating effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and opportunities
Implementing and improving engineering processes and methodologies to optimize efficiency and productivity
Building engineering experiences through enhancing the technical interview process and engineering onboarding programs
Driving the adoption of best practices and industry standards within the engineering organization
Monitoring and evaluating the performance of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and effectively

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Information System
Proficiency in English
10+ years of experience in managing web project or product development
4+ years of experience with people management and stakeholder management
Experience in leading an engineer team (direct or indirect) of 20+ members
Ability to adapt to large, complex, and frequent changes to respond to evolving market demands
Advocacy for diversity and inclusion within the organization
Strategic networking and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
Design and implementation of risk management strategies for high-risk initiatives
Demonstrated strategic thinking and influence over organizational direction
Experience working at a similar level in an IT firm
Holding professional certification in management, such as PMP, PgMP, CSM, PMI-ACP
Experience in managing/developing BtoB applications
Fluency in Japanese (N1/N2) is a plus
