Engineering Manager (Frontend Platform)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid working at HCMC office OR fully remote working if you are not currently located in HCMC.
As the Engineering Manager for the Frontend Core team, you will...
Work with each engineer on your team to create a personalized career plan and check in during regular 1:1s
Develop roadmaps and project plans for the libraries and tools that frontend engineers use every day
Collaborate with other teams to help them solve technical challenges, and guide them toward standard solutions to common problems
Help to up-level the frontend engineering organization at our Client
Support the establishment and enforcement of Company-wide frontend engineering standards
Manage the communication with other teams to help protect your team from randomization

JOB REQUIREMENT

Required Skills:
A customer-focused engineering leader who has led and launched complex web-based applications
5 years of frontend or full-stack web development experience
Platform mindset, prioritizing quality, reusability, and documentation
Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal)
Proficient in Javascript or Typescript, HTML5, CSS, and component-based frameworks like React
Experience with hiring, mentoring, and motivating engineers
Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Flexible working style, able to collaborate with stakeholders in multiple countries, timezones, cultures, and disciplines (engineering, PM, design)
Open and receptive to input and design approaches, but able to assert a hard line for quality and maintainability
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of people management experience
Experience working with designers to develop a reusable component library based on a design system
Experience designing and implementing frontend libraries
Experience with developing roadmaps, prioritizing projects and features, and triaging requests from other teams
Experience with supporting web accessibility best practices
One or more of the following:
Experience with frontend infrastructure & tooling, i.e. webpack
Experience with UX or UI design, especially for responsive mobile interfaces
Experience with logging and metrics tools like MixPanel, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana

Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and prioritization, ensuring engineering expenditure produces measurable business value.
