Game Design Team Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION

Mission
Our Client is looking for a Game Design Team Lead to build and manage game design teams of game artists, creative and animators for game-based educational products, as well as plan schedules and work with both internal and external stakeholders
Your responsibilities also include supervising design and gaming protocols, defining game-play mechanics, coordinating with other in-house or outsourced game designers, ensuring decent quality of mobile game and gamified learning content production.
Responsibilities
Game design and development
You will actively participate in the creation and the development of the Game Design by working closely with the Learning Experience and Content Manager and Product UI/UX Design stakeholders.
Understand the learner/player’s needs and ensure the gamified components developed by the team contribute to an engaging player experience.
Create innovative games for edutainment and education purposes.
Conceptualize and develop characters, rules, settings and stories for new games.
Pitching new game ideas to the team and stakeholders
Game design team management & development (leadership role)
Actively participate in recruitment of future team members.
Supervise and provide clear and structured documents to the project, that clarifies the game design and gameplay, and allows the team to work on productive tasks (game systems, game economy, etc.)
Actively communicate and participate in the decision-making process with product and content management team
Manage and oversee the necessary adjustments to ensure the Game Design team can deliver on expectations in a manner that will failsafe team health and leaners’ experience.
Manage and review design distribution and work performance of your newly built game design team and
outsourced team.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Skills
At least 5 years of experience in the gaming industry in general, preferably in mobile games.
Prior experience in leading, training and building up a team’s capacity is advantageous.
Decent knowledge of Art/Animation/Sound/Code is an advantage.
Portfolio of game deliverables is highly preferred.
Ability to articulate and pitch game ideas and reasoning with customer-focused data insights.
Having experience or being familiar with educational or edutainment products/apps before is a big PLUS.
Required background & Attitude
 Education & Background:
Bachelor’s degree in game design, computer science or computer engineering.
You proactively get yourself updated to knowledge and best practices of the industry.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
You are a strong visual communicator and excellent at both receiving and delivering feedback.
You are highly organized and able to plan ahead and complete tasks timely.
You are open-minded to create a positive work environment that will impact your team’s motivation and performance.

WHAT'S ON OFFER

Annual leave: 12 days, plus 1 day with 3 years seniority
Social insurance, PIT: our Client will cover - 100% NET salary
Lunch allowance: ~700k VND/month
Accommodation allowance: 5% net salary/month (pay in the end of each year)
Phone allowance: phone card 500K/month
