Head of Engineering

JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE OF JOB
Overall responsibility for all aspects of technology in the business, end-to-end technology strategy, delivery and the engineering team as a whole and will deliver a best-in-class scalable platform capable of supporting to the highest standards of product and services development;
Ensuring a sustainable technology approach centered on the creation of the leading food-tech company in the Vietnam market, capable of supporting the business as its customer pipeline grows tenfold and beyond.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Overall responsibility for engineering activities across the business;
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of build design system;
Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance;
Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market;
Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate security risks and develop opportunities;
Making recommendations and presenting business advantages for technology initiatives and improvements;
Providing technical leadership at the department level and serving an integral role in operations and business development;
Leading your department in identifying, comparing, selecting, and implementing technology solutions and partnerships to meet current and future needs;
Conducting research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new processes and system alterations, as well as to analyze and improve upon technology standards across the department to maintain a technological advantage for teaching and learning.

JOB REQUIREMENT

The employee must meet the following minimum job requirements to successfully perform the job
1. Education:
A degree or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineer/ Information Technology, or experiences in related fields.
2. Experience:
At least 3-5 years with experience as a director of engineering/ head of engineering or in a similar senior-level position at an engineering department;
Extensive experience with cloud technologies and modern technologies;
Hands-on experience in software development with good understanding of agile methodologies.
3. Skills/Knowledge:
Demonstrated success delivering customer-centric tools adding value to the end uses while also anticipating internal operational needs and delivering tools that result in value-added services to the organization;
Proven success building high-performing technical teams and working with rapid growth and implementing change;
Be a strategic thinker and effective communicator offering expertise in technological development and the demonstrated ability to implement and execute organizationally.

High responsibility and diligence;
Intellectual curiosity.

Engineering Manager
