Take end-to-end accountability for discovery, estimation, architecture, development, testing, release, production support, incident response and continual improvement.
Build the Company engineering organisation: define team structure and roles; participate in structured hiring; onboard, coach and retain strong engineers; and create clear expectations and development paths.
Lead internal engineers and manage external engineering delivery partners against agreed outcomes, quality standards, security requirements, service levels, knowledge-transfer plans and delivery commitments.
Maintain sufficient technical depth to challenge designs, lead architecture and code reviews, resolve complex delivery or production issues and make sound build-versus-buy decisions.
Establish and enforce engineering standards for secure software development, code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, release management, documentation, dependency management and technical-debt reduction.
Own production reliability and operational readiness, including observability, capacity, availability, performance, backup and recovery, incident management and root-cause remediation.
Embed security and privacy by design, including least privilege, tenant isolation, encryption, auditability, secrets management, vulnerability remediation and data minimisation.
Protect financial-data integrity through transactional consistency, accurate calculations, reconciliation controls, immutable audit trails and appropriate segregation of duties.
Partner with Product, Operations, Compliance and business leaders in the UK and Vietnam to shape requirements, manage trade-offs, communicate risk and provide transparent delivery forecasts.
Define measurable engineering objectives covering delivery predictability, change quality, reliability, security, cost, team health and customer impact.
Own responsible AI adoption across coding, testing, documentation, knowledge management, operational analysis and automation. Run controlled experiments and measure quality, productivity, security and cost outcomes.
Evaluate AI-enabled product opportunities with approved data handling, human oversight, testing, monitoring and safe fallback paths before production use.
Manage engineering suppliers and technology vendors with clear ownership, access boundaries, performance reviews, security requirements, continuity planning and transition readiness.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and prioritisation, ensuring engineering expenditure and cloud usage produce measurable business value.
