Head of Engineering

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead, organize, and scale large agile teams (50+ members) into self-managed teams to cover different platform and application components.
Identify weak links in the engineering processes and toolkits, propose solutions, and oversee the execution across the teams.
Facilitate the adoption of Agile practices to improve the teams’ performance.
Provide support for project proposals: technical architecture, organization and process, planning, help with estimation.
Drive coordination and alignment across multiple product lines and departments
Encourage development standards across all development teams.
Assist the project teams in urgent cases, fixing the root cause and coming up with strategies to prevent the issues from recurring in the future.
Coach and mentor technical leadership to inspire developers along each of the above steps.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Perfect English communication skills, verbal and written.
Good business mindset.
Minimum 10 years of experience in software development. You will be expected to have practical, hands-on experience in developing and delivering several large-scale, relevant projects.
Solid knowledge of product development and project management.
A technical approach to problem-solving, with the demonstrable ability to provide solutions for technical challenges no one has faced before.
Deep knowledge in modern technologies: distributed web systems, Big Data, and cloud infrastructure.
Knowledge of Machine Learning is a plus.
Strong leadership, collaboration, presentation skill, ability to think creatively and strategically.
