MSSQL DBA Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Managing SQL Server databases across different lifecycle stages, from development to high-priority production systems.
Configuring and maintaining database servers and processes.
Monitoring system performance and health.
Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
Analyzing and addressing real-time issues.
Providing recommendations for solutions.
Streamlining and automating routine processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
Assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
Providing 24x7 support for critical production systems and carrying out scheduled maintenance and release deployment activities outside of regular hours.
Sharing domain and technical expertise by offering mentorship and cross-training to other team members whenever feasible.

JOB REQUIREMENT

At least 5 years of experience working as a SQL Server DBA
A minimum of 3 years of experience in MSSQL Server Administration
Proficiency in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
Knowledge and experience in backups, restores, and recovery models
Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Working understanding of the Linux operating system
Demonstrated sense of ownership and dedication to delivering strong performance that contributes to overall success
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Effective time-management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Fluency in spoken and written English
A BSCS or equivalent degree is required
Preferably holds certifications like MCSE, MCSA, or has equivalent experience
