NLP Operations Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Client is seeking an exceptional individual to join the firm as NLP Operations Engineer.
While prior finance or machine learning experience is not required, a successful candidate must possess a strong interest in learning about finance, global markets and machine learning.
NLP Operations Engineer will design, implement and monitor complex proprietary platforms, pipelines, and tools to support our NLP Quant Researchers and PMs.
You will collaborate with researchers and PMs to gather, analyze and spec out requirements, develop and test code robustness and latency, and manage product deliverables. A successful candidate will help build production pipelines employing state-of-the-art NLP models and techniques supporting investment strategies at scale.

JOB REQUIREMENT

MUST HAVE:
BSc/M.Sc. from a leading university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience developing scalable and robust software
Experience building distributed or data-intensive systems
Experience programming production systems in Python and C++
Knowledge of parallelization, threading, multiprocessing, etc.
Familiar with workflow scheduling (e.g. Airflow)
Experience working in Linux environments
Strong communication skills; ability to express complex concepts in simple terms
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience in deploying machine learning frameworks in production
Experience with Kubernetes and Kafka
Work with leading cloud technologies (such as AWS, and GCP)
Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Familiar with Deep Learning frameworks (PyTorch) 
Understanding basic probability, statistical inference, and software solvers is a big plus
Experience building CI/CD and machine learning pipelines is a big plus

Staff Engineer, Firmware

Create the firmware stack for a new project from the ground up, including selecting the operating system, setting up the toolchain, and developing the board support package. Develop firmware for real-time processing units across the project's hardware platform. Establish and maintain embedded Linux environments for onboard computing, including BSP setup, device tree configuration, kernel driver development, and userspace/kernel interfaces. Create and maintain low-level drivers for various components such as actuators, sensors, IMUs, and communication buses (CAN, EtherCAT, SPI, I2C, UART). Design real-time control loops with specific latency and determinism requirements. Work closely with different engineering teams to co-design hardware and firmware interfaces. Develop tooling for firmware flashing, diagnostics, and in-field debugging. Set and uphold firmware architecture standards, code quality practices, and review processes within the team.
