JOB DESCRIPTION

Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js, ensuring performance and reliability.
Develop responsive and dynamic user interfaces with React Router v7, delivering seamless navigation experiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine API designs that support robust integrations.
Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code across the full technology stack.
Optimize PostgreSQL queries and data pipelines to enhance system efficiency and responsiveness.
Strengthen system observability and monitoring, and contribute to infrastructure improvements.
Participate in architectural discussions and help shape engineering best practices across the team.

JOB REQUIREMENT

More than 5 years of experience in product-focused engineering
Strong sense of ownership and readiness for startup environment
Proficient in PostgreSQL, tRPC, and OpenAPI
Familiarity with React + TypeScript for cross-functional collaboration
Additional Qualifications
Experience in payments or fintech industry
Familiarity with Clickhouse/Tinybird
Exposure to AI/ML systems
Developed high-performance, low-latency systems
Experience with tRPC/OpenAPI

Serve as the primary bioinformatics subject matter expert for engineering teams developing cloud-native bioinformatics software. Collaborate with software architects to translate scientific workflows into scalable distributed computing architectures. Help engineers understand the computational characteristics, assumptions, and limitations of existing bioinformatics tools. Validate that modernized applications preserve scientific correctness and produce reproducible results. Define biological data models, metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, and best practices for data harmonization. Guide engineering teams in designing scalable approaches for processing large genomic and multi-omics datasets. Evaluate open-source bioinformatics software (e.g. PLINK, Regenie, BCFtools, GATK, Nextflow workflows, etc.) and identify opportunities for cloud-native modernization.
