JOB DESCRIPTION

The Product Owner is responsible for representing the customer's voice and providing the vision and roadmap for the Merchant services experience. They work closely with the Head of and Product consultant to prioritize the squad backlog.
They contribute to and lead the discovery and delivery of new initiatives based on customer needs, business value, and regulatory requirements, balanced with technical do-ability and risk assessment.
The Product Owner keeps the team focused on the highest priority work and collaborates with stakeholders to streamline work for the team within their sprint velocity.
They fulfill the role of a trusted servant leader for their squad, supporting members to understand the squad mission, fostering accountability for the work, and collectively delivering on commitments.
Strong communication and ability to influence others are utilized when coordinating and engaging with stakeholders and teams to achieve desired outcomes.
The Product Owner represents the voice of the Customer and Colleague when developing the product roadmap and prioritizing based on realistic outcomes and impact, challenging the status quo.
They are responsible for managing stakeholders on behalf of the squad and providing transparency and visibility required for all parties involved.
The Product Owner embraces continuous learning and improvement, valuing progress over perfection.
Being ultimately accountable for the squad's outcomes
Collaborating with the squad to elaborate features and stories, defining acceptance criteria and definition of done
Making effective day-to-day decisions to facilitate the squad's progress
Working in collaboration with the Scrum Master and the squad to deliver backlog, and attending all relevant agile ceremonies
Communicating and engaging with stakeholders outside of the squad to protect squad members and avoid context-switching
Ensuring that the customer and colleague experience is protected and complete UAT/BVT when required
Fulfilling other assigned tasks by the People Leader and/or authorized representative of the company from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENT

5-7+ years of banking experience with at least 2+ years as a Product Owner
Strong knowledge of financial services and the Credit Card lifecycle from various standpoints
7-8 years of experience in leading cross-functional and self-managing teams from multiple providers
Familiarity with agile methodologies and human-centered design techniques
Ability to articulate and develop a vision into key features, user stories, and goals in line with domain cadence
Comfortable in a leadership role and leading workshops throughout development stages
Innovative, adaptable, and quick to grasp new skills
Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making
Knowledge of project delivery and the software development cycle
Leadership of a high performing squad
Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Structured problem-solving mindset with a test-and-learn approach
Mastery in product ideation, design, planning, and engagement
Experience with human-centered design, product storytelling, and product leadership
Familiarity with various tooling such as Clarity, Grace, Confluence, Figma, and banking systems
Tertiary qualified with a degree in Finance or Business, and preference to post-graduate qualifications
