JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage a team of 10+ with a focus on skill development and performance enhancement.
Define development strategy for the QA team, then execute and control the actual team performance.
Participate in the product development team as a QA leader, managing all aspects of product development and fostering team cohesion. Be responsible for the product quality.
Monitor and review incidents, develop improvement plans to prevent recurrence, and ensure their implementation within the organization.
Collaborate with the other teams to refine QA processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices.
Recruit top QA engineering talent, and manage and support their growth effectively.
Conduct employee performance evaluations, from goal setting to final assessments.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of QA engineer's experience.
3+ years experience in managing the QA team.
Experience in managing a QA engineering team of 5+ members including different testing specialties from Manual testing, Automation testing, SDET, Performance testing, and Security testing.
Proven people management skills: team building, employee satisfaction, career development, and mentoring
Familiar with Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, Scrum of Scrum, and its best practices
Excellent communication skills for working with diverse people across language barriers.
Language Requirements
Professional working proficiency in English. (It's equivalent to a TOEIC score of 700 or equivalent or higher). The interviews will be conducted fully in English.
Efficient collaboration with Japanese stakeholders (team members, business-side personnel, etc.) for various aspects.
Preferred Skills
Fintech Accounting Domain Application Expertise: Experience in managing or developing Fintech Accounting applications to solve business-related matters and technology challenges.
Cross-locations development team where sub-teams are located in different countries.
Japanese proficiency is a plus to understanding business requirements and customer voices.
Relocating to Japan for the first year is a must.

Owning the Documents Archive Solution (DAS) - GoBD-compliant archive for invoices and business documents, built as a React + TypeScript (Bun / Effect) service on Azure (PostgreSQL, Blob storage, Event Hub) and integrated into the Hub and Managed ERP Panel. Defining and evolving the technical architecture: modular design, REST and GraphQL APIs, cloud infrastructure (Azure), and data flows. Driving the roadmap for the cloud transformation - moving the ERP step by step from virtual machines onto Linux and Docker. Owning the roadmap for test automation, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), observability, and operational reliability. Evaluating and adopting AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate team productivity. Championing secure-by-design practices and maintainable, high-quality code across the entire stack. Hands-on incident response and on-call escalation support together with the team.
