Senior Backend Engineer

Our client is a leading HR and payroll platform designed to simplify workforce management for businesses.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Oversee the development and maintenance of frontend and backend components for web applications with Ruby (80%) and ReactJS (20%)
Work with the product team to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions
Contribute to the technical strategy and delivery of the team, participating in scrum ceremonies
Ensure the quality of code through testing and code reviews for both self and colleagues
Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing with Junior Developers
Collaborate with skilled Software Development Engineers
Display enthusiasm for complex and challenging development projects
Improve legacy features for the HR tech platform

JOB REQUIREMENT

More than 3 years of experience in Software Development, specializing in Server-side and RESTful API Development and integration.
Proficient in OOP languages such as Python, NodeJS, Java, Go, PHP, etc., and open to learning Ruby upon joining the team.
Proven track record of implementing, maintaining and deploying full-stack web technologies.
Strong OOP skills and understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology.
A collaborative team player with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
Experience in mentoring team mates or leading an Engineering squad.
Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science of Software Engineering or an equivalent.
Experience in developing highly modular mobile applications and mobile application performance tuning.
Ability to translate design wireframes into functioning UI components.
Background in functional programming.
Familiarity with AWS tooling and environments, including EC2, Kubernetes, etc.
