JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our new fintech squad and play a key role in building a new financial infrastructure platform. This platform will support complex, regulated money movement operations across multiple countries and currencies.
The role requires expertise in backend system design, compliance, and financial integrations, and will involve designing, building, and scaling secure services in a cloud-native, distributed architecture. You will collaborate with talented engineers and product teams globally.

JOB REQUIREMENT

10+ years of experience in backend development, particularly in the creation of complex systems.
Strong practical knowledge in fintech, payments, or compliance-sensitive fields.
Proven experience in integrating with financial institution APIs or establishing payment services.
Sound comprehension of AML/KYC, transaction monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in cloud-native platforms, preferably AWS.
Proficient in creating backend system designs, distributed architecture, and API development.
Skilled in at least one modern backend language, such as Ruby, Go, Java, or Python.
Previous involvement in initiating new products or joining early-stage engineering teams.
Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers, advocate for best practices, and enhance the team's technical capabilities.
Comfortable working independently in a remote-first, async-first team.
Excellent English communication skills.
Possesses an ownership mindset and prioritizes production readiness.
