Senior Backend Engineer (Python, Java, PHP, Ruby)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We're seeking an experienced backend engineer with full-stack capabilities to join our development team. This role primarily focuses on backend systems while requiring a comprehensive understanding of web architecture and application design principles.
Design, develop, and optimize backend systems and services
Architect and maintain database solutions that meet performance and reliability requirements
Implement efficient network communications and API endpoints
Collaborate with frontend developers, ensuring seamless integration between systems
Apply CS fundamentals to solve complex technical challenges
Contribute to technical decision-making and architectural discussions
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices

JOB REQUIREMENT

Must-have:
5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend systems
Extensive experience in at least one server-side framework: Python, Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails, etc
Strong Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system design, and software architecture
Database expertise: deep understanding of database systems, schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
Networking knowledge: solid understanding of network protocols, API design, and secure communication
Full-stack awareness: familiarity with modern web architecture and frontend technologies, and how components interact across the stack
Proven ability to design and build scalable, maintainable, and high-quality systems
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Good English communication skills, able to discuss technical topics and collaborate effectively with international teams
Nice-to-have:
Experience developing and maintaining production-grade Python applications
Experience with distributed systems / large-scale architectures
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience in performance optimization and system scalability
Track record of contributing to complex or high-impact technical projects
