Senior PHP Developer (WordPress)

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for maintaining, developing, operating, monitoring and customizing an eCommerce system (built from WordPress / WooCommerce framework and fully deployed on AWS), and participating in other software development initiatives initiated by product and business management.
Work with the project and product teams and stakeholders to come up with plan to analyze, design, develop, document, customize and deploy good quality outputs on both functional and non-functional (performance, security, scalability, usability) to the company’s e-commerce platform,
Monitor and maintain the e-commerce system to ensure it is operating smoothly and issues encountered are addressed efficiently with minimal risks,
Take the lead in deployments and operation works to ensure the entire system and data are deployed, secured, backed up, restored, maintained and upgraded properly,
Understand and apply best practices and tools to minimize and avoid potential security risks to the e-commerce system,
Optimize the performance of the e-commerce system according to pre-defined metrics committed with the product management and business,
Work with third-party partners to integrate third-party systems into the e-commerce platform,

JOB REQUIREMENT

Mandatory Skills:
At least 5-year experience in PHP WordPress development with WooCommerce plugins for ecommerce projects,
Able to configure / customize WordPress themes / layouts,
Hands-on experience with developing and customizing WordPress plugins,
Strong experience with JavaScript and jQuery,
Able to manage and operate the full life cycle of a WordPress site from development, customization, deployment, operation to maintenance,
Experienced in optimizing, scaling and securing WordPress sites,
Able to do the full migration of a WordPress site [including all the data, static assets, applications, configurations…] from one environment to another environment,
Hands-on experience with AWS (AWS Lightsail, EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, Elastic Load Balancer, Amazon API Gateway, CloudWatch…),
Strong proficient with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis,
Hands-on experience with RESTful web services and system integration,
Self-discipline, self-motivated, proactive, good collaboration and teamwork spirit,
Able to work independently with high sense of responsibility,
Willing to learn and apply new technologies and tools where possible,
Able to communicate in English at the basic level.
Optional Skills:
Experienced with Angular TypeScript in web front-end development,
Experienced with NodeJS development,
Good understanding and experience in micro-services architecture,
Experienced with DevOps works and able to build CI/CD environments and processes on the cloud.
