Senior/Principal/Lead Game Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION

To date, blockchain technology has been boring and mainly focused on trading. Axie is here to change that with fun, dynamic gameplay that allows players to improve and trade assets that they have complete and total ownership over. Axie is also more than a game— it's a gaming platform with infinite possibilities and potential spinoff mini-games so you'll have a lot of freedom to start new initiatives and make them your own. Being a Game Designer at Sky Mavis, you are expected to:
Participate in designing, developing and growing our Axie core game production 
Outline and implement the game vision including game story, gameplay, target market, monetization, player retention and so on
Work with other departments (art, engineer, operation) to prototype, and ensure the game production meets its design vision
Balancing the technical and product roadmaps within the team.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Proof of past engagement in building games, whether in a professional or hobbyist setting.
Mastering game design principles: camera, control, character, lighting, etc.
You learn quickly and adapt to new principles and ideas.
You're a team player and can work closely with the rest of our team.
Experience working with Game Engine such as Unity

In this role, you will serve as the liaison between stakeholders and the tech team in Vietnam. You will be involved in different workstreams such as assessing business value, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define experiences, gathering requirements, writing user stories, and delivering impactful experiences to end users. Undertake the role of the Product Owner, making prioritization decisions and managing backlog independently and proactively. Contribute to creating and managing the roadmap. Act as a liaison between stakeholders in the US and the tech team in Vietnam, ensuring alignment and addressing impediments. Draft detailed feature requirements and user stories and effectively communicate them to creative and technology teams. Proactively identify and document edge cases, error states, and non-happy path scenarios to ensure comprehensive feature design before development commences.
