JOB DESCRIPTION

Create and maintain backend web applications, automation scripts, and business logic employing Perl and Mason.
Collaborate with PostgreSQL for schema design modifications, writing efficient SQL queries, and ensuring stable data operations in production systems.
Construct and maintain containerized development workflows with Docker to ensure consistent environments.
Work closely with QA engineers, business analysts, and cross-functional developers to deliver new features and resolve issues.
Write well-documented, maintainable code following best practices and actively participate in code reviews.
Use Git for version control and contribute to team sprints.
Utilize Generative AI tools to enhance productivity and modernize internal processes.
Lead feature development, propose technical enhancements, and contribute to architecture improvements in large, legacy Perl systems.
Improve maintainability, performance, and system reliability by refactoring and modernizing older Perl codebases.
Engage in peer reviews and support knowledge-sharing within the team.
Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, and internal engineering workflows.

JOB REQUIREMENT

High-level fluency in English, especially in verbal communication.
Expertise in Perl programming language, Mason Framework, and Linux command-line scripting.
Proficiency in Mason for Perl templating, backend service logic, and web request/response cycles.
Advanced skills in PostgreSQL including schema design and SQL query optimization.
Any experience with cloud platforms is a plus, and ability to work in containerized/cloud-hosted environments.
Familiarity with DevOps tools and methodologies such as Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices.
Experience in integrating with APIs and modern services, debugging across application/database/container layers, and use of Generative AI tools for development.
Curiosity, passion for new technology, and the ability to take ownership of outcomes.
Strong communication skills to work effectively in a remote-first environment.
