JOB DESCRIPTION

The role requires optimizing database performance, managing security, performing regular backups, and implementing high availability solutions.
The responsibility encompasses overseeing SQL Server databases across multiple environments to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
Managing database replication, clustering, Always On availability groups, and other HA/DR strategies is a crucial part of the role.
Expertise in administering SQL Server instances hosted on Azure, optimizing cloud database performance, and ensuring seamless migrations from on-premises environments is essential.
The position involves developing and optimizing complex T-SQL queries, troubleshooting performance issues, and designing efficient database schemas.
Automation is vital for this role, requiring the implementation of scripts and processes to streamline database maintenance, backups, and health checks using PowerShell and SQL Server Agent Jobs.
The role also includes implementing Change Data Capture (CDC), job monitoring, and alerts to ensure database health.
Configuring SSL/TLS encryption for SQL Server instances and continuously improving performance through indexing and execution plan analysis are part of the responsibilities.
Collaboration with development teams and stakeholders is essential to align database architecture with business goals.
Providing on-call support for production issues and contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives are additional responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Should possess three to four years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator, with at least one to two years working in Azure Cloud environments.
Thorough understanding of SQL Server architecture, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions is necessary.
Strong experience in T-SQL development, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions, as well as troubleshooting and performance optimization.
Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automating DBA tasks such as backups and health checks is highly valued.
Experience with database monitoring tools such as Grafana, SolarWinds, and Azure Monitor, and setting up Change Data Capture (CDC) for tracking changes is important. Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills are required to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are advantageous.
Proficiency in English is required for this role.
