Lead technical inquiries into restructuring, decomposition, or re-implementation of existing software systems to effectively function in distributed environments.

Collaborate with distributed computing specialists to devise target architectures using Spark-based execution models for extensive data processing.

Construct and manage the development of reusable transformation pipelines, automation tools, and engineering frameworks facilitating large-scale software modernization.

Develop validation strategies, quality frameworks, and technical evaluation processes to ensure maintained functionality and reproducibility of transformed systems.

Influence architectural decisions regarding scalability, maintenance, performance, infrastructure efficiency, and long-term platform progression.

Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, evaluate technical designs, and enhance the team's engineering proficiency.

Collaborate with domain experts to comprehend application necessities and translate them into scalable, feasible technical outcomes.

Prototype and assess new AI-assisted engineering measures to improve transformation velocity, engineering productivity, and software quality.

Contribute to the organization's lasting strategy for AI-driven software modernization, distributed computing, and engineering automation.

Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, including leading roles in complex software systems.

Deep knowledge in distributed computing using large-scale data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, PySpark, Scala, or similar.

Strong skills in software architecture and system design, with a track record of designing scalable, cloud-native applications.

Proven experience in modernizing complex software systems and transitioning monolithic applications into scalable distributed solutions.

Proficient in Python and/or Scala programming with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, production-quality code.

Experience in designing high-performance data processing pipelines and optimizing applications for scalability, parallelism, and resource efficiency.

Background in building developer platforms, engineering frameworks, automation systems, or reusable software infrastructure.

Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software engineering techniques to enhance engineering productivity.

Demonstrated ability to lead technical investigations, evaluate architectural tradeoffs, and make sound engineering decisions in ambiguous problem spaces.

Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, containerization, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and modern software development practices.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across software engineering, distributed computing, AI, and scientific domain experts.

Proven ability to mentor engineers, conduct architectural reviews, and elevate engineering quality within a team.

Experience in scientific computing, computational biology, bioinformatics, or other computationally intensive analytical applications.

Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC), GPU computing, or large-scale parallel computing.

Experience in building AI agents or autonomous software engineering workflows.

Background in compiler technologies, static code analysis, program transformation, or source-to-source translation.

Exposure to workflow orchestration platforms such as Airflow, Nextflow, or similar technologies.

Participation in open-source frameworks or widely adopted developer tools.
