JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide support for the service(s) across the organization
Identify and address risks associated with the operation of the service
Understand the end-to-end technical service(s) including dependent components and infrastructure
Contribute to the identification of issues/incidents/events that impact agreed service KPIs, SLAs, Service Health, and any 3rd party Service Providers
Take responsibility for the successful resolution of critical, high, medium, and low problems
Provide technical support and direction across service management processes including incident, problem, change, configuration, capacity, continuity (DR), availability, asset, monitoring, and alerting
Understand the required business outcomes for the service and translate those into Service Improvement Plans with input from Business Engagement, where relevant
Collaborate with Architects and Design Leads to ensure that projects are scoped in accordance with asset roadmaps and strategies
Collaborate with 3rd party service providers, project services, and service management to ensure high quality and successful transition of all service(s) changes
Utilize appropriate forums and networks to identify opportunities to leverage asset portfolio capabilities
Ensure adequate communication, knowledge sharing, and issue resolution across delivery and support teams
Manage stakeholders and their expectations
Ensure appropriate capacity, risk, and security monitoring, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are in place across the portfolio, and remediate any issues appropriately
Implement and enforce appropriate data quality controls across the portfolio
Perform On-Call support as part of a team and be remunerated accordingly.
JOB REQUIREMENT
3-4 years of experience in Database Technology and delivery, focusing on practical use, design, and deployment of large-scale Database infrastructures
3-4 years of experience in designing, building, managing, and administering large-scale Databases (physical and virtual) environments
3-4 years of experience with SYBASE Software and Database (Sybase ASE 16, Replication V16, Sybase IQ 16)
Any exposure to PostgreSQL would be beneficial.
Experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise Database and application dependencies and toolsets.
Proficiency in database optimization and tuning.
Good understanding of hardware, networks, software technologies, and applications.
Possession of relevant industry certifications
Effective business communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to remain adaptable to achieve business objectives
Proven track record of coordinating multiple stakeholders and 3rd parties to achieve successful outcomes in a time-sensitive environment.
Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and technology
Tertiary qualification in a Technology discipline or related field
