JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for supporting and maintaining the Linux platform within a global engineering team
Take ownership of tasks and missions, acting as a liaison between different regions
Troubleshoot issues such as packet loss, storage and network latency, and instability
Proactively assess internal clients' needs and effectively communicate them to leadership at regional and global levels
Identify risks, develop contingency plans, and implement them
Monitor the performance and health of critical computing environments
Address advanced system and network issues involving Linux, complex routing, switching schemes, and network protocols across various platforms
Participate in occasional on-call responsibilities and support on-call staff during their shifts
Show a strong desire to learn and grow skills independently and from senior team members, and maintain training materials and documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Strong communication skills to effectively engage with individuals and teams at various levels.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with clients and management during incidents.
Thorough understanding of Linux system internals, including kernel operations, memory management, sockets, and interrupts.
Knowledge of networking and storage, ranging from basic to advanced levels.
Sound understanding of network protocols and their management by the kernel.
Proficient in automating manual processes using Python, shell scripting, or similar high-performance interpreted languages.
Ability to automate infrastructure tasks or a strong willingness to learn and participate in development.
Committed to expanding knowledge, collaborating across different areas, and contributing to a strong and cohesive team within and beyond the region.
