As an Animation Engineer specializing in emotional and facial animations, you will play a pivotal role in creating emotionally engaging and expressive characters for our interactive experiences. Your expertise in bringing subtle nuances to life through animations will be essential in immersing our audiences in captivating and emotionally rich narratives.
Take ownership of animation systems and features: motion matching locomotion system, IK systems, procedural animation
Collaborate closely with animators, character artists, AI engineers, and gameplay engineers to realize creative ambitions, understand requirements and artistic direction
Work within Unity and adapt existing systems and build new animation technology in order to fulfill the project’s technical needs
Implement high-quality emotional and facial animations that convey a wide range of emotions, capturing the intricacies of human expressions and reactions.
Utilize our existing keyframe animations to create lifelike and believable character performances, ensuring seamless integration into our product.
Work closely with the animation and design teams to iteratively improve character performances based on feedback and playtesting results.
Collaborate with the gameplay and narrative teams to integrate emotional and facial animations effectively into interactive experiences and cinematic sequences.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, research, and advancements in emotional animation and facial expression technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve animation-related issues, optimizing animations for performance and visual fidelity across various platforms.
Provide technical support and guidance to the animation team to ensure consistent quality and adherence to project goals.
JOB REQUIREMENT
You do not need to meet all of the requirements below, we encourage you to apply if you have:
Solid knowledge of C#, object-oriented design, and a 3D math background
Proven experience as an animation engineer
Familiar with multi-threading techniques and common optimization related to animation
Experience in creating and improving animation systems in game engines
Deep understanding of facial anatomy, expressions, and emotions, enabling you to create believable and impactful animations.
Experience with facial capture technology and data processing techniques.
Knowledge of animation blending, state machines, and related animation systems used in games
Experience working with or creating a motion-matching system for game engines is a big plus
