JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Animation Engineer specializing in emotional and facial animations, you'll be instrumental in crafting compelling and expressive characters for our interactive experiences. Your expertise in infusing subtle nuances into animations will be vital in immersing our audiences in captivating, emotionally rich narratives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of animation systems and features, including motion matching locomotion system, IK systems, and procedural animation
Collaborate closely with animators, character artists, AI engineers, and gameplay engineers to understand requirements and artistic direction, and bring creative visions to life
Utilize Unity to adapt existing systems and create new animation technology to meet project needs
Create high-quality emotional and facial animations that convey a broad spectrum of emotions, encapsulating intricate human expressions and reactions
Enhance lifelike character performances through the use of keyframe animations, ensuring seamless integration into our products
Work iteratively with animation and design teams to refine character performances based on feedback and playtesting results
Integrate emotional and facial animations seamlessly into interactive experiences and cinematic sequences in collaboration with gameplay and narrative teams
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in emotional animation and facial expression technologies
Troubleshoot and resolve animation-related issues, optimizing animations for performance and visual fidelity across various platforms
Provide technical support and guidance to the animation team to maintain consistent quality and achieve project goals.
JOB REQUIREMENT
While meeting all of the requirements listed below is not necessary, we strongly encourage you to apply if you have:
Proficient knowledge of C#, object-oriented design, and a 3D math background
Proven track record as an animation engineer
Familiarity with multi-threading techniques and common optimization as they relate to animation
Experience in developing and enhancing animation systems within game engines
In-depth understanding of facial anatomy, expressions, and emotions, which allows you to produce realistic and impactful animations
Experience with facial capture technology and data processing methods
Familiarity with animation blending, state machines, and other animation systems frequently used in games
Previous involvement with or creation of a motion-matching system for game engines would be highly advantageous
