Technical Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead and build a strong technical team that covers all standardized development aspects of the company
Provide technical direction for product development which is aligned and updated with required standards of our Client Group
Coordinate technical recruitment & training for talent development to meet the ideal organization structure
Ensure product quality improvement through different courses of actions from proposing best practices for architecture and design, to regular audit/review for technical implementation
Plan strategically and implement countermeasures of performance, security and reliability issues
Liaise with clients, group CTO, project management team, and other stakeholders

JOB REQUIREMENT

Must have:
10+ years experience in software development
Experience working at a similar level in an IT firm, such as CTO, Head of Engineering, Technical Director, etc.
Experience in handling technical architecture solution for software product development
Expertise in different technical aspects from architecture, design, testing, cloud based solutions, production support, etc.
Excellent problem solving skill, especially in dealing with escalated or critical issues
Passion with technological acquisition, research and development
Strong business mindset
Strong critical thinking to reflect concerned matters from different viewpoints
Extensive communication skills for both external and internal to different types of people
Open minded, and result oriented mindset to deal with change and diversity-
Good command in English
Nice to have:
Experience in developing BtoB saas applications
Fluent in Japanese (N1/N2) is a big plus

You will not only architect scalable Python systems but also align technical decisions with business goals. Risk Management: Provide honest reporting to management. Do not hide risks; instead, communicate them early with mitigation plans. Operational Excellence: Maintain system stability and reliability in production. Leadership & Mentorship Team Building: Build a strong engineering culture and standardize coding practices. protect the team from distractions while ensuring members trust and follow your technical direction. Mentorship: Conduct code reviews to mentor the team on mindset and standards (SOLID, DRY). Delegate tasks effectively-assigning the right people to the right jobs. Communication: Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Explain technical decisions to the CEO and Product teams using business language (Cost, Risk, Impact). Align expectations on scope and delivery explicitly from the start.
